Ahhh, Spring! Ah-Ah-CHOO: 3 Tips to Alleviate Your Allergies in the Car – Nicholasville, KY

I love Spring! I really do; the flowers, the trees, everything in bloom…ah..ahhh. AH CHOOO! Excuse me. I don’t like the allergies, though. It’s okay, Nicholasville Nissan in Nicholasville, Kentucky totally hooked me up with these great ideas to help fend off allergy attacks while commuting. Let’s face it, there’s nothing better than driving through town on a warm spring day with the windows of your 2015 Nissan Juke rolled all the way down so you can enjoy the fresh spring air! But sitting at the stoplight with red, itchy eyes and sneezing like it just won’t stop while the cutie in the car next to you gives you the side-eye? Not good. These tips and tricks to alleviate your allergies in the car worked for me, so maybe they’ll help you, too!

Close the Windows

I know, this tip is terrible because you don’t want to do it. You LOVE the fresh spring air! I do too, but I also love having makeup that isn’t runny and sneezing attacks that don’t happen. Keeping the windows closed while driving will also keep the dirt, dust and pollen from accumulating inside your car.

Get a Dehumidifier

Yup, for your car. There are these little satchels that you just place in your car and they fight musty odors and mildew, as well. You can check them out here.

De-Clutter the Interior

This was a big one, I found out. I’m in my car so often that if I’m running out to do errands, I’ll grab the mail and check it really quick before leaving, and then the junk mail ends up staying on the floor or in the backseat. The same goes for the New York Times and other assorted magazines. It’s important to clear this clutter out because it just ends up collecting dirt, dust and detritus. Not good for your allergies at all!

What it comes down to is keeping the interior of your car as clean as you can and enforcing a ‘pollen-free’ zone. It also helps to keep a box of Kleenex handy, because sneezes do happen, and you’ll want to make sure you catch it on a tissue rather than your hand or the sleeve of your sweater. I hope these tricks work as well for you as they did for me. If your car needs more than cleaning, consider replacing it with a 2015 Nissan Juke – no one’s allergic to that new car smell!
